Learning Out comes ( What you can do after)

By the end of this programme the participant will:

  • Understand the relevant requirements of current legislation
  • Know the duties and responsibilities of relevant parties
  • Advise the Client and assist them in their role
  • Consult, communicate and coordinate with designers and other stakeholders
  • Know what to look for on a site visit
  • Determine the particular risks associated with the project
  • Be able to develop and complete the Preliminary Plan
  • Assess others for competence as agreed with the Client
  • Complete/review all relevant forms and documentation including DRAs
  • Collate the information for the Safety File as agreed with the Client
  • Keep records to audit standards
  • Be able to give direction to designers and others where necessary

This course is ideal for those who wish to gain knowledge and build competency in the design process safety including Project Managers, Site Managers, Designers, Safety Advisors, Contract Managers, Design Engineers or those who would like to gain knowledge and a qualification in the area.

Cert & Assessment

This programme is approved by IOSH and an IOSH Certificate for Safety in Construction Design Management – PSDP will be awarded to all participants on the programme who successfully complete both the theoretical and practical assessments.

The Theory Assessment is by way of a short answer paper consisting of 30 questions with a time frame of 60 minutes for completion. An assignment is also required
