ASafe Solutions provide Safety Management for all business types and sizes across Ireland.
Does your office space have three or more employees? And do your employees spend 4 or more hours at their desk? If the answer is yes to both of these questions, you as the employer have legal obligations that you may not have fully thought about yet.
Under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 Section 20, the employer including self employed persons and persons in control of places of work, must prepare a Safety Statement to protect the safety and health of employees and other people who might be at the workplace, including customers, visitors and members of the public. Any workplace with three or more employees requires this safety statement.
An office place also requires Display Screen Equipment assessments, also called DSE assessments, for it’s desk based staff. A DSE assessment is a workstation risk assessment for employees who spend a lot of time at their desks. It is an assessment with corrective actions on the ergonomics of how they are sitting and working. It helps prevent against repetitive strain injuries, body fatigue, back posture among a number of other benefits. ASafe have experienced and qualified DSE assessors that will point employees in the right direction of sitting and working correctly at their desk.
